TUCSON REFUGEE MINISTRY VOLUNTEER INFORMATION MEETING
THURSDAY APRIL 14, 1-4 PM PARISH HALL, SANTA CATALINA CATHOLIC
CHURCH.
There is a unique opportunity right now to welcome strangers and to make a difference,
not just far away, but right here at home. Tucson welcomes nearly 1000 new refugees
every year. What is the Church of Tucson doing about it? How can Christian believers
"welcome strangers” to our city and even into our homes? What’s the difference between
a refugee and an undocumented immigrant or asylum seeker? How can we be sure
that these refugees are not actually terrorists trying to infiltrate our country? How might
the Bible inform our thinking about this situation? Tucson Refugee Ministry has some
answers, and we are committed to building a bridge between the Church and the nations
at our doorstep. A commitment to volunteer is not necessary.
If interested in attending, please RSVP to Judy Lynch at judyklynch@gmail.com
or 825-3013.
