Summer Activities for Kids

It's summertime, and what is there to do for kids in Catalina? In addition to the various VBS sessions posted below, here are a few other options in town:
Summer Program at Catalina Rec Center:
Ages 5-13; 5 year olds must have completed Kindergarten
We offer a wide variety of activities for the program. Such as, outdoor play, sports, AZ nutrition, arts and crafts, indoor group games, board games, Environmental Education, guest speakers, swimming, and field trips. Free program except for special activities and field trips.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Summer Session: June 4 – July 27, 2012
Registration (by lottery): April 16-20, 2012 during business hours
Regularly Scheduled Events at the Dewhirst-Catalina Public Library:
Toddler Storytime Wednesdays, 10:30-11am
Spin, Pop, Boom Thursday, June 21st, 10:30am
Arizona Juggler Monday, July 9th, 10:30am
Summer Reading for Kids, May 24 through July 21:
For meeting your reading goal you will receive a free book. For finishing six activities you'll get a Zoo Pass.
Catalina Community Services
CCS is offering a ton of fun activities for all ages, including kids. Activities include sewing, dancing, crafts, games, science exploration, and more. See their website at www.catalinacommunityservices.org/currentevents.
