Women of the Word Bible Studies announces a new Bible Study, "The Armor of God," led by Susie Gannett, starting October 18 through November 15 (sign-ups available through October 11). The cost is $15 and the Bible Study will be held at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center on Tuesdays, from 9am to 11am (call 520-275-2821) and at the Parish House, 36768 S. Aaron Lane on Thursdays, from 9:30am to 11:30am (call 520-429-6784).
The Women's Fall Retreat will be held at the Mountain View Ballroom East in SaddleBrooke, Friday, November 11 from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday, November 12, from 9am to 4pm. The theme is "Heart Smart" and is led by Susie Gannett. The cost is $50 and includes dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday. Call 520-825-0224.
A celebration of Advent will take place on December 2, 2016, at the Mountain View Ballroom, in SaddleBrooke, from 11am to 1:30pm. The cost is $25 and includes a luncheon and entertainment by The Gatekeepers and Aliyah Douglas. The theme is "The Amazing Story." Call 520-825-1262 for more information.

Veteran's Day Activities in Catalina include a free meal for veterans at Claire's Cafe, from 8:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, November 11, and a memorial service for fallen soldiers, led by Rev. Michael Morehouse, at 11:00am on that same morning. There will also be a pickle and jam and bake sale outside of Claire's to raise fund for upcoming veteran outreaches. Flyers and free meal tickets are being printed to distribute throughout the community. Call Catalina Lutheran Church for more information 825-9255.
A Military Appreciation Banquet will be held at the First Baptist Church 3505 E Wilds Rd on Wednesday, November 9th, at 6:30pm. All military and their families are welcome to this complimentary dinner. By reservation only, RSVP by Oct. 28th 520-818-2555 M-F from 9am to 3pm. Offered in cooperation with the American Legion and the Arizona Fisher House.
Reformation Festival October 29, 2016

A festival celebrating the reformation will be held Saturday, October 29th at the Catalina Lutheran Church, 15855 N Twin Lakes Dr. It will begin at 2:30pm with a special presentation on the reformation followed by authentic German fare from the "German Food Station." There will be activities for children, including face painting, snow cones, coloring, lawn darts and soccer. Everyone is welcome. Call 825-9255 for more information.

Announcing a new worship service called the Movement, beginning Sunday night, 6:00 pm on August 28th at the First Baptist Church of Catalina 3505 E. Wilds Rd. (behind Coronado School)! There will be nursery care for children 5 and under. The music is contemporary and is provided by the group VENTURE. The messages are focused on life change. We will have a meet and greet on August 27th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will serve hot dogs, drinks and have games for the children. The group VENTURE will present 20-30 minutes of worship music during this time. Please call 818-2555 for more information.

METRO MINISTRY: A new United Methodist Ministry here in Tucson is seeking volunteers to be mentors at Coronado School!
If you like greenhouse gardening or gardening in general this program is going to use gardening as a platform to reach and mentor children at the school.
