Concert on March 29: "Los Nortenos"

Come to a concert of the Norteños, Saturday, March 29, beginning around 12:00 noon. The concert is sponsored by the Horeb Baptist Mission and  will take place in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church, 3505 E. Wilds Rd.

Here are some of the upcoming events at Vista ----

Friday, February 14 at 6:00 PM - a Valentine Gala put on by the United Methodist Men.  Tickets are $15.oo each.  Come and enjoy the fun.

Friday, February 23,  at 3:00 is the HarpFusion.  Come and enjoy the wonderful music.  There will be a freewill offering. 

Tuesday, February 25 is game Night.  It starts at 6:00 PM.  Come and enjoy the fun and fellowship.

All events will be held at Vista de la Montana United Methodist Church,

Vista Fine Arts new 2013 fall season

October 13 – Tucson Chamber  Artists*

November 24 – Tempe Symphonic Wind Ensemble

January 19 – Dolce Musica Woodwind Quintet

All concerts are on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Vista (*Denotes ticketed event) Other concerts are free – an offering will be taken

TUCSON CHAMBER ARTISTS PRESENT A CONCERT OF AMERICAN FOLK SONGS AND  SPIRITUALS

 

 The Tucson Chamber Artists present another chapter  in their exploration of the American songbook with “How Sweet the Sound II,” a program  of American Folk Songs and Spirituals, which  includes favorite songs by Aaron Copland and Stephen Foster, and excerpts from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. Also on the program are beloved African-American spirituals and hymns, including Precious Lord Take My Hand;  Give Me Jesus;  Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel; and Amazing  Grace.

 

 The unique spirit of America and American artists has transformed listeners the world over since the earliest days of the nation.  Music powered the pioneers,  the foot soldiers, the farmers and the inventors.  This music plays throughout our history from the earliest days to the present.  Come with the Tucson Chamber Artists and experience our American spirit in song.  

 

This  concert is on Sunday afternoon, October 13, at 3:00 pm at Vista. Director, Eric Holtan, will give a pre-concert talk at 2:15.

TCA is offering a special ticket price of $20 for advance purchase by friends of Vista Fine Arts. Tickets are  available from Donna Langwig at Vista (297-3042), by calling theTCA office at  401-2651 or visiting www.TucsonChamberArtists.org.( Tickets will be $25 at the door.)   Students are $5. Special Music at First Baptist Church in February and March

Wednesday, Feb. 27: "The Gatekeepers" will be special guests at the First Baptist Church of Catalina (3503 E. Wilds Rd.). They will be singing for us and will also give a report on Israel.

Sunday, March. 3: William Harness will be singing at both of our services and will also do a concert on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.  He was originally an opera singer and has changed to gospel music.  He has a 5 octave range in his singing and is wonderful to listen to!  The concert is free and a Love Offering will be taken.

Saturday March 9:  Come to a dinner ($7.00) and show.  The theme is "American Pie". 

Sunday, March 24: Easter Musical: "The King is Coming!"

Vista Fine Arts Concert on October 28th

Vista Fine Arts (at Vista de la Montana United Methodist Church) invites you to a wonderful afternoon of music with artists Christine Vivona and Rob Boone – Sunday, October 28th at 3:00 p.m. Christine and Rob perform a variety of standards on the harp, trombone and piano, featuring “Jazz Classics from the Great American Songbook.” Come and listen to this entertaining couple and see why they are performing concerts all over the southwest. If you thought that harp was only for classical music you will be amazed at the versatility of this beautiful instrument. Christine is a Juilliard trained harpist with a Doctorate from the University of Arizona and Rob is an award winning trombonist, pianist, and arranger and recording engineer. Rob plays in the Original Wildcat Jass Band and plays piano and trombone for Robert Shaw. Both have CDs of their own as well as having played on CDs of Linda Ronstadt, Nils Lofgren, and many local artists.
