The Veteran’s Day Celebration will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at Claire’s Café in Catalina. Pastor Morehouse will hold a Memorial Service at 11:00 for fallen soldiers and all Veterans. Operation Barnabas will be offering $10 meal tickets to the first 40 Veterans to be used towards a breakfast or lunch at Claire’s. Also, we will be holding a Pickle, Jam & bake sale from 7:00-12:00.

Dr. Greg Silverman, a Messianic Jew, will be leading a Special Worship Event, celebrating the Biblical Feasts of Rosh HaShana, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.

Free Caregiving Workshop

FHAN, Faith Health Alliance North sponsors a free annual workshop addressing issues of health and aging. This year's gathering focuses on the caregiver.

It will be held on October 16th, 2019 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm at Vista De La Montana United Methodist Church, 3001 E Miravista Ln, Catalina, AZ. Registration begins at 12:30 pm.

Caregiving can be challenging, demanding and unrelenting, but for the right person, with the proper support system, it can also be a rewarding experience.

This workshop offers an opportunity to listen as other caregivers share their stories. There will be an opportunity to learn about community resources available and for you to find the support you need as a caregiver.

Help for those who grieve

Casa de la Luz has several grief support groups that can provide support and healing after loss. One of the groups will be meeting in Catalina, at the Santa Catalina Catholic Church, 14380 N Oracle Rd.

It is called "Healing Journeys Support Group", for adults after the loss of a loved one. It will be meeting on Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30pm, from January 10 through February 28, 2019 (8 wks). For information, registration, and/or directions, call Casa de la Luz at 520-544-9890.
